CMS Poised To Miss Deadline To Finalize Hospital Outpatient, Home Health, ESRD Pay Rules

With only the physician fee schedule posted on the Federal Register Friday evening (Oct. 31), the Trump administration seems poised to miss its deadline to finalize three Medicare pay rules by Nov. 1, the date necessary to comply with the 60-day notice so the rules can go into effect on Jan. 1, 2026. CMS will now have to decide whether to waive the 60-day notice period or delay implementation for these rules.
