Kidney Care Partners Lends Support for the Nomination of Alex M. Azar II for U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services

Kidney Care Partners (KCP), the nation’s largest kidney coalition comprised of physician groups, providers, patient advocacy groups, manufacturers and researchers, today praised President Trump for his nomination of Alex Azar for Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

KCP recognizes Mr. Azar as being a well-respected thought leader both nationally and internationally on healthcare policy, and for his keen understanding of the myriad programs that make up the nation’s complex healthcare system.

“As a community dedicated to caring for more than 30 million Americans living with chronic kidney disease or kidney failure and related disease conditions, we are encouraged that the President has put forth such a strong candidate,” said Dr. Frank Maddux, chair of KCP. “We remain hopeful for Mr. Azar’s successful confirmation so that we can continue our important collaborative work with HHS to ensure access to quality kidney care and innovations, as well as sustained quality improvements.”

Kidney Care Partners (KCP) was founded in May of 2003, as a coalition of patient advocates, dialysis professionals, care providers and manufacturers dedicated to working together to improve quality of care for individuals with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).

KCP’s goal is to involve patient advocates, care professionals, providers and manufacturers. Their mission, individually and collectively, is to ensure: Chronic kidney disease patients receive optimal care; Chronic kidney disease patients are able to live quality lives; Dialysis care is readily accessible to all those in need; and Research and development lead to enhanced therapies and innovative products.
