Kidney Care Partners Praises Bipartisan House Committee on Ways and Means Health Subcommittee Leaders for Efforts to Improve Kidney Health Through Better Prevention and Innovative Treatment
March 18, 2026
WASHINGTON, DC – Kidney Care Partners (KCP), the nation’s largest alliance of members of the kidney care community that includes patient advocates, dialysis care professionals, providers, including nephrologists and nurses, and manufacturers organized to advance policies that improve the quality of care for individuals with both chronic kidney disease (CKD) and irreversible kidney failure, known as End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), is pleased that House Committee on Ways and Means Health Subcommittee leaders are dedicating their time today to explore critical and timely treatment improvements for individuals with kidney disease, and, importantly, at the midpoint of National Kidney Month.
“Kidney disease advocacy is non-partisan, and individuals suffering from these debilitating and disabling conditions have been left behind by a system that has not offered patients material improvements in decades,” said LaVarne Burton, Chair of KCP and Chief Executive Officer of the American Kidney Fund. “Because of long standing deficits in the system that fail to incentivize new therapies and that diminish resources for providing them, KCP is especially grateful for the subcommittee’s leadership today and looks forward to a constructive hearing and ongoing partnership focused on improving care for patients.”
